What You Would Get To Do
In this capacity, the ideal candidate would represent the FIRST brand as an implanted team member for one of our Solutions accounts in a well-known technology company and assume the role of Team Lead. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical production experience in the event industry who can assume a management role within an organization. This role will be responsible for leading the technical production elements for high-profile events in addition to directly managing team members on the account to ensure delivery of high quality events. You’ll liaise with FIRST teams and our client daily.
For events, the goal is to provide a seamless technology experience for all attendees, press, and partners, and to create a more efficient and reliable technical environment for event staff and vendors. This role will report into the Regional Lead.
Your Contributions
- Lead all aspects of on-site service delivery, including developing processes, driving innovations, and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Partner with internal & external stakeholders to flawlessly execute technically complex, high-profile events.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of specialists, technicians, and freelancers, overseeing their workload and capacity
- Oversee team administration, including staffing the event calendar, onboarding, training, vacation schedules, and reviewing T&E reports.
- Provide technical and operational support to event spaces, including hands-on event delivery when necessary.
- Collaborate with clients to establish A/V and staging layouts, manage production budgets, and advise on optimal venue setups.
- Generate detailed reporting on space utilization, studio health, finances, staffing, and client satisfaction.
- Liaise across FIRST internal departments, clients, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless execution and communication.
- Partner with People & Culture on company initiatives, recruiting, and employee relations.
- Ensure team adherence to standard operating procedures, compliance processes, and rectify technical errors appropriately.
- Encourage the team to proactively identify new technical solutions, supplier best practices, and creative ideas that provide value-add for clients.
What We Are Looking For
- This position requires at least 8-10 years of experience in a similar role
- Must be fluent in English & German
- Strong people management skills with the ability to lead by example and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of local employment laws and regulations
- Expert understanding of the latest Audio/Visual technology, including lighting, audio/video systems, rigging, and power.
- High level of proficiency in delivering technically complex, high-quality events and operating production systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to build robust relationships with clients, vendors, and venues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexities while prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of suppliers, vendors, market pricing, and contract negotiation.
- Must be able to work full-time on-site, with flexibility to support across the campus and manage fluctuating hours or weekends.
