Our Responsibilities

The FIRST Sustainability Policy is approved by the FIRST Board of Directors and endorsed by the CEO.

Our responsible business commitments are driven by a dedicated team operating under the name of Paramount whose mission is to support a People centric, Purpose driven and Planet conscious culture.

The Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) committee and the Paramount team ensure that the relevant information is reported to the Board and that the necessary initiatives are implemented.

It is the ESG committee and all FIRST employees’ responsibility to ensure that the business is behaving responsibly, in line with our sustainability objectives.

Sustainability Statement

At FIRST, we understand our actions matter. As individuals. As a collective. To our communities.

Our goal is to be constantly innovating and educating to create tangible positive change that contributes to a sustainable events industry.

We use the B Corp “B Impact Assessment” tool as a framework to continuously improve our performance. As part of our company goals, it drives our sustainability strategy and objectives on which we are reporting from 2024.  As part of FIRST’s governance, we are committed to conducting our activities in a manner that upholds the principles of operating legally, efficiently, ethically, transparently, and with accountability.

This sustainability policy outlines our commitment to create tangible positive change across our entire stakeholder ecosystem.

It is articulated around five strategic commitments, each addressing a significant theme for our company and our stakeholders.

1- We’re taking responsibility
By embedding sustainability considerations into business decision making

The FIRST ESG committee meets every month and reports on our Environmental, Social and Governance objectives on a quarterly basis to the board. The Paramount team is responsible for engaging the relevant internal departments and strategic committees at a global level to embed sustainability into our practices and formalize our engagements.

2- We’re setting the standard
By promoting sustainable practices within our supply chain and providing a secure working environment to our employees

We realize that collaborating with our value chain is key to contributing to a more sustainable events industry. We are tracking Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) as well as basic sustainability credentials for our suppliers with the objective of selecting the most sustainable suppliers and collaborating with our close partners to improve our performance.

We are proud to contribute to our employees’ financial security, health and wellness, and career development. By encouraging our employee-led initiative, FIRST Cares and through our employee engagement program, BOOST, we believe that we are making a positive difference to society.

3- We’re working together
By fostering a responsible business culture and supporting our communities

Integrating environmental and social considerations in our work and day to day life requires that our teams feel knowledgeable, empowered and safe. We provide on-going knowledge-sharing and training opportunities for our workforce. Our Diversity & Inclusion Council focuses on concrete engagement initiatives with employees and the local community.

Through our philanthropic efforts including charity donations and our support to employees by offering days off for community work and our preference for local suppliers. Our philanthropic efforts reflect our dedication to making a positive impact in the communities we serve and beyond.

4- We’re reducing our impact on the environment
Reach Net Zero emissions in 2050

We measure our Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions and are developing our reduction plans to achieve a 45% reduction by 2030 (from our baseline year 2022). Reducing the events sector GHG emissions will need a strong collective effort and we want to play our part. At FIRST, we minimize the negative impact of our offices by sourcing renewable energy, reducing waste generation and energy consumption and encouraging commuting by public transport. However, most of our GHG emissions are generated by our supply chain, with whom we are collaborating to reduce our carbon footprint. Our involvement with the NZCE (Net Zero Carbon Events) initiative will guide our collective efforts.

5- We’re delivering
By creating added value for our customers through more sustainable event solutions

We believe it is our role to be a sustainable development advocate. We provide solutions that minimize the environmental impacts and maximize the positive social impacts of the brand experiences we create and deliver. We encourage the adoption of sustainable event practices through awareness raising and the measurement of impact to align our clients’ ESG commitments with their audience experience.

We comply with and respect all data privacy and security regulations, the rule of law, international rule of behavior, and respect human rights.
