What You Would Get To Do:
The 3D Design Intern will work closely with the Creative Studio Director, Technology Directors, Designers, and the Event & Experience team to support a variety of design projects for global conferences, exhibitions, experiential events, and digital campaigns. This role will assist in developing 3D models, creating floorplans, and modifying venue models, while ensuring adherence to project specifications and brand guidelines. Collaborating in brainstorming sessions and offering creative input, you will contribute to the design process and help maintain organized project files. The role requires clear communication, creativity, and adaptability, with the opportunity to work across regions and contribute to award-winning case studies and internal projects.
Your contributions
- Assisting with Design Projects
- Work closely with the Creative Studio Director and / or Senior Designer to understand project requirements and contribute to the creative process
- Collaborate on brainstorming sessions and provide input on design concepts
- Assist with developing 3D models ensuring that they meet the project specifications and brand guidelines are adhered to
- Maintain organized files and documentation for all design projects
- Assist with general design tasks as well as ad-hoc duties as necessary
- Support the Senior 3D Designer by modifying existing or creating floorplans, venue models, and 3D renders
- Work collaboratively with areas of the business, including both creative and technical production teams
- Bring your own skills, creativity and value to our evolving team
- Ability to communicate design intent clearly
- Contribute to internal work and award-winning case studies
- Bring enthusiasm, inspiration and fresh ideas to the team, and flexibility and adaptability while working with global teams across multiple time zones
- Act as an ambassador for the FIRST brand, leading by example and displaying the company’s core values (Ambition, Creativity, Excellence, Integrity, Teamwork)
What We Are Looking For
- Working towards or has completed a degree in Environmental / Scenic Design or a related field
- Candidates can either be college students, recent graduates, or individuals looking to change their career
- No previous experience required
- Essential time management skills to ensure timely completion of design projects
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team
- Some knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, CAD and Vectorworks
- Proficient experience in Sketch-Up (proficiency in Enscape render software a bonus but not essential)
- Knowledge in environmental design
- Event and scenic/design build drafting (floor plans and explainer drafting)
- Knowledge of scenic rental and fabrication techniques
- Knowledge of event décor and furniture rental vendors
- Energetic, positive, client-focused, and adaptable to various situations, personalities, and requests
- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and take direction well
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
- Calm, flexible, and resilient under pressure, with a creative problem-solving mindset
- No travelling required
- Polite everyday communication, limited to workplace

United States Residents: The base pay for this position is $20 - 25/hour.
Please note that the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across various U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
