What You Would Get To Do
The Business Intelligence Developer is a key role within FIRST’s Business Intelligence and Data Analytics function, reporting to the Director of Data and Analytics. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining dashboards, reports, and business intelligence solutions that transform FIRST's operational data into actionable insights. This role is central to empowering data-driven decision making across the organization and supporting FIRST's evolution into an intelligence-driven partner in the brand experiences sector.
Your Contributions
- Design and build interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or similar platforms.
- Create visualizations that effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical users.
- Develop standard and custom reports for internal performance tracking and client-facing analytics.
- Implement self-service reporting capabilities for business users across departments.
- Ensure dashboards and reports are optimized for performance, usability, and accessibility.
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from multiple sources.
- Create data transformation workflows that prepare raw data for analysis and reporting.
- Implement data quality checks and validation rules within ETL processes.
- Automate routine data processing tasks to ensure timely availability of information.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data integration issues to maintain data reliability.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of FIRST's data warehouse structure.
- Create and maintain dimensional models, fact tables, and reporting views.
- Implement data partitioning, indexing, and query optimization techniques.
- Support data governance initiatives through proper metadata management.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure alignment between data architecture and reporting needs
- Engage with business users to understand reporting requirements and analytical needs.
- Translate business questions into technical specifications for reports and dashboards.
- Provide guidance on best practices for data visualization and interpretation.
- Validate solutions with stakeholders to ensure they meet business objectives.
- Document business requirements and technical implementations for knowledge sharing.
- Research and evaluate emerging BI tools and technologies.
- Propose improvements to existing reporting processes and solutions.
- Develop standardized templates and components to accelerate dashboard development.
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices for BI development.
- Support the integration of AI capabilities into reporting solutions.

- 3+ years of experience in business intelligence development.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or related field.
- Strong proficiency with Tableau.
- Experience with SQL and data manipulation languages.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modelling.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into effective BI solutions.
- Experience working with financial and operational data in a business context.
- Certifications in relevant BI platforms or data technologies.
- Experience with Cloud-based data platforms.
- Knowledge of Python, R, or other programming languages for advanced analytics.
- Familiarity with the event management industry or professional services sector.
- Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts as applied to business analytics.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Detail oriented with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
- Creative problem solver who can translate complex concepts into intuitive visualisations.

United States Residents: The base pay for this position ranges from $117,000 to $135,000. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
