What You Would Get To Do
The Event Management Team Lead is responsible for leading, motivating, and managing the event delivery team to ensure seamless execution of world class events. This role fosters strong working relationships, champions FIRST values, and represents FIRST on site within a well known tech company. Through clear leadership and effective team management, the Team Lead ensures consistently high service standards and successful events. This role is well suited to an experienced event professional with a proven ability to manage and inspire teams.
Your Contributions
- The Event Management Team Lead directly manages a team of event professionals
- Manages the schedule of their team, assigning events and projects according to capacity, planned leave and individuals’ specialist skills for both onsite and hybrid events
- Reviews event requests and consults on event policy, and approvals
- Advises on the planning and execution of events for designated high profile groups, overseeing the execution of larger scale events
- Supports and coordinates the delivery of events as needed
- Handles event escalations
- Manages monthly audit reports as required by client and internal management
- Partners with the client on various strategic initiatives and projects
- Develops, mentors, and provides feedback to team members on an on-going basis
- Oversees workload of team ensuring day-to-day understanding of capacity/pressure points and assisting/offering guidance on team’s events where required
- Manages vacation schedules, ensuring appropriate team coverage and review all expense reports
- Oversees the on-boarding/off-boarding process for all employees
- Ensures team adheres to standard operating procedures and compliance processes
- Manages and promotes communications to all team members to ensure maximum efficiency
- Partners with FIRST People & Culture on all company initiatives, recruiting, and employee relations matters

- 8-10 years of experience
- Strong people management skills with the ability to lead by example
- This role will be assigned to a primary location but will require flexibility to be deployed to support across the campus(es) as required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels
- Decision maker and problem solver with a collaborative/team-player attitude
- Positive and caring approach to team management
- Experience working cross-functionally with all levels of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Creative problem solver, resourceful, team player
- Adaptability to situations and ever-changing demands
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Ambitious and proactive with a calm and flexible approach to handling pressure
- Experience working on large and complex databases
- Must be fluent in English
- Assume responsibility for own environment, ensuring adherence to health and safety policies while having clean smart surroundings
- Work intelligently and ensure management is aware of problems or issues which negatively affect productivity
