What You Would Get To Do:
The Internal Communications Associate will support our internal communications function across FIRST. This role will assist in the development and execution of the internal communications, live programs and internal events plan for FIRST globally. The goal of the internal communication programs are to further employee engagement, build out the company's brand and culture, drive awareness and knowledge around the business, and improve listening to hear back from the business.
This position will support the implementation of our communications strategy that aligns with our overall business objectives and organizational messages.
This person will report to the VP, Internal Communications.
Your Contributions
- Collaborate as a member of the Internal Communications team to support the drafting, design, and sending of global business communications, intended to enhance employee awareness around FIRST business initiatives and goals, engagement priorities, learning, DEI and Sustainability, and more.
- Support on the day-to-day management of Internal Communications team projects, tasks, and other initiatives.
- Coordinate the calendar of upcoming communications and live internal programs; help prioritize communications, tracking progress of deliverables, and escalate issues.
- Provide strategic and project planning of internal in-person and virtual events (Town Halls, ‘FIRST After Hours, Wind Downs, internal webcasts, monthly knowledge programs [such as ‘Good Day at FIRST’ and ‘Clients FIRST’]).
- Act as a key champion of and proponent for the company intranet (“FIRST Hub”), coordinating content and increasing usage, searchability, and efficiency.
- Collect information for, and write, and design monthly internal e-newsletter, and weekly/monthly recaps.
- Collaborate with the People & Culture ‘Engagement’ team on celebrating work milestones (anniversaries), birthdays, and other celebrations.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on various internal-to-external and external-to-internal initiatives.
- Work closely with the creative teams and external partners in the creation, coordination and execution of communications graphics and other digital and video assets.
- Manage content for projects including town halls, videos, intranet, and more.
- Administer communications inbox and respond to inbound communications.
- Build and foster relationships with various team members across the business to help develop creative, innovative communications and ensure that employees are kept informed, motivated, and engaged
- Communicate Internal Communications team processes, guidelines, and deadlines clearly, effectively, and consistently.
- Help measure ROI, success metrics, and analytics of various internal communications campaigns.
- Bring enthusiasm, inspiration, and fresh ideas to the team; exemplify flexibility and adaptability while working with teams across multiple time zones.
- Act as an ambassador for the FIRST brand internally and displaying the company’s core values (Ambition, Creativity, Excellence, Integrity, Teamwork).

- 2-4 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent writing and clear communications
- Project management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
- Creative and outside of the box thinking
- Some event planning and event promotion experience
- Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Suite
- Visual Eye (designing slides, banners, selecting images for intranet)
- Shared inbox management experience
- Canva (nice to have)
- Simpplr or another intranet (nice to have)
- Photography (nice to have)
- Video editing (nice to have)
- Marketing automation skills - eg Hubspot, Eloqua, Pardot (nice to have)

United States Residents: The base pay for this position ranges from $65,000 to $80,000. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
