What You Would Get To Do To
The ideal candidate would represent the FIRST brand as a dedicated resource within our Solutions division and serve as the Senior Event Technology Manager. The Senior Event Technology Manager will be responsible for the operations of technology, event websites/apps, data management, and other analytics, in addition to supporting the client, FIRST management, and the broader team on projects outside of delivery to drive best practices across the team.
- Implementation and project management of event registration websites, app builds and all technological aspects of our events
- Confidently lead on the highest profile and complex events, at times providing more junior team members with project guidance
- Develop and manage a wide range of online registration projects
- Keep up-to-date on all emerging technologies, popular culture and trends and ensure team members are informed as well
- Innovating on new technology and how integration will flow between systems
- Database Management: ensure consistency of information and generate lists upon request
- Manage client evaluation communications such as save-the-dates, invitations, registration, confirmations, etc
- Manage relationships with technology suppliers, including the negotiation of contracts
- Effectively communicate with internal and external clients over the phone, in person and via email
- Work with event Project Managers/Coordinators on overall program logistics, production, and implementation
- Database management to ensure consistency of information, accurate data, inputting new data when required and generating lists upon request
- Coordinate planning, building and utilisation of mobile apps across a variety of projects when relevant
- Lead contact for attendee management and technology vendors, including pre-event and during execution
- Responsible for all registration collateral and equipment management
- Create and distribute post-event client surveys
- Registration desk flow design and set-up
- Review and manage any relevant third-party vendor invoice reconciliation, e.g. badging/attendee tracking etc
- Reporting (response rates / new implications), analytics, and surveys
- Advises onthe user experience of all pre-event and onsite registration for both virtual and in-person events
- Assist with the recruitment of new team members
- Train other staff on current technology and processes
- Travel domestically and internationally in support of client events
- Support other members of the department as needed on ad-hoc projects
- Responsible for capacity management and flagging when scalable resources are needed
- Take a consistently proactive approach to creating and delivering enhancements to project delivery, and drafting best practices to support implementation
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement any changes in alignment with management
- Mentor, train and support other team members as required, taking on additional responsibility outside of event management to support efficiencies and enhance collaboration
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrate consistent, strong leadership skills together with extensive, advanced project management experience
- Extensive experience, including meeting planning and coordination, including event and registration technology
- Proficiency with registration website platforms such as Cvent, Splash, Certain, Aventri, Eventbrite
- Experience with virtual meeting and event platforms such as Intrado, GlobalMeet / TalkPoint, Zoom, WebEx, SpotMe, Concise Chime or other virtual meeting and event platforms
- Ambitious, proactive, and highly organised, with excellent writing and oral communication skills
- A calm and flexible approach to handling pressure and stress
- Client-centric, approachable, ability to adjust to client needs and style and deepen relationships in support of their business and programs; adapt to ever-changing demands and different client work styles
- Actively demonstrate strong self-awareness and empathy for each member of the project team
- Approachable to support all team members with day-to-day guidance and challenges
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office – specifically with Excel and PowerPoint
