Sibos 2021

CHALLENGE

Following the tremendous success of SWIFT’s annual flagship event, Sibos, in 2019 and the first ever virtual Sibos in 2020, FIRST were again called on to deliver the financial community’s primary thought-leadership experience on a bigger scale than ever before.

APPROACH

Prioritizing authentic interactivity between attendees and speakers with more live sessions and broadcast quality production, FIRST coordinated remote and in-person production teams in studio spaces in New York, London and Brussels, capturing pre-recorded content ahead of the 4-day live streamed event in London.

SOLUTION

FIRST produced and managed the Sibos 2021 online content management portal which launched with teaser videos to build excitement and was live-updated with on demand content.

Maintaining strict data security compliance measures, FIRST hosted the live streams on a bespoke virtual platform embedded into the site for a secure and seamless user experience. The 4-day agenda featured over 330 speakers and incorporated familiar Zoom-style networking sessions throughout to foster global community discussion.

With ‘community’ being the focus of the event, maintaining engagement with a global virtual audience across the 4 days was our priority. Creative, collaborative tech such as Slido, Virtual Front Row, Piccles and live scribing were integrated into the agenda to facilitate live audience participation throughout.

HIGHLIGHTS

FIRST worked with over 330 speakers: global industry experts and thought-leaders. That’s more live sessions and broadcast quality production than ever before!

90+ hours of live streams released and later uploaded to Sibos.com.

200+ hours of content captured, reviewed and edited.

Multiple positive reviews and features in publications such as Technology Record, Asset Servicing Times, Finextra, ANZ bluenotes, FinTech Futures.

Daily Wellness Challenges won attendees in-kind donations of an accumulative 1,000 hours worth of education to charity Teach for All.

Collaborative coordination between FIRST and SWIFT over remote and in-person production teams in studio spaces across New York, London and Brussels, capturing pre-recorded content ahead of the 4-day live-streamed ‘chasing the sun’ event in the London studios.

ENGAGEMENT: Sibos Community

All live sessions ran from 30mins – 1hr, the latter including live Q&As for maximum audience engagement and empowerment over the discussion direction.

Many of the speakers and attendees remain actively engaged with the Sibos community year-round, returning each year with anticipation as attendees and collaborators, or with confidence as speakers, benefiting from content strategy guidance, creative presentation design and speaker-coaching from FIRST. 

Sibos TV was created with its own branding and virtual environments as a round the clock on-demand offering. This channel provided previews and wrap-ups of the event, as well as special TV reports and onsite talks broadcasted online through dedicated social media channels including YouTube and the Sibos website.

The Spotlight Stage, hosted by four industry leaders, featured short sessions in quick succession from up and coming industries, including digital security and financial social responsibility.
