Bring to life Verizon Media’s first NewFront under their rebrand through the theme of ‘Connect Everything’ in order to highlight their leadership in content, ad tech, and partner solutions.
FIRST used innovative production design, amplification and augmented reality to showcase the power of 5G in a big way.
The singular design vision for the 30,000 sq. ft. raw space transformed the entire event, which in the past had been a sensory overload, into what was now a monochromatic, sleek and cohesive design, leveraging unique lighting, LED technology, and livestreaming content.
Using innovative production design, we leveraged unique lighting and LED technology, including a dramatic check mark entrance, a hanging LED chandelier, and an infinity mirror photobooth. These key elements echoed the dramatic stage design which combined a massive screen, vertical panels, and rock concert lighting.
High contrast video design and strong creative direction enabled the stage to transform instantly from sleek and monochromatic to powerful and colorful, successfully highlighting new products from Yahoo Play, HuffPost, and Yahoo Sports.
To truly amplify the experience, engage a wider audience and bring the Verizon Media brand story to life, the presentation was streamed live on Twitter, reaching 135K views. A segment on augmented reality gave a peek into the power of new 5G technology using an animated AR character, Hypezilla, which interacted directly with the audience.
Speakers included Verizon Media’s CEO, Guru Gowrappan, Jets quarterback, Sam Darnold, and actress, Julianne Moore.
The NewFront was in the top five highest presentation attendance and the event was ranked “Innovative & Fresh” by 61% of attendees, and left 66% of attendees feeling excited by the new programs showcased. The event beat expectations for their ad sales, as 67% of attendees felt the it delivered persuasive reason to increase ad spend or add the brand to their media plan.
