JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate would represent the FIRST brand as a dedicated resource within our Solutions division and assume the role of Event Technician on a freelance basis. The Event Technician will be responsible for operating the technical production for on–campus events requiring support with Audio, Video, Staging, Lighting needs. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills, technical production skill sets, practical experience operating event production systems, with extensive experience in both corporate events. The goal is to provide a seamless technology experience to all attendees, press and partners, as well as create a more efficient and reliable technical environment for event staff and vendors.
The position is available on a freelance basis only, and shift availability will be based on the event schedule and operational needs of the company. All candidates must be eligible to work as a freelancer in Singapore.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- End to end delivery of all assigned on-campus events from inception through execution to on site delivery and post event activity including but not limited to contents displaying on video wall, video and audio signals routing and mixing, recording and live streaming
- Provide daily technical check and day-to-day troubleshooting for AV equipment
- Work on high profile events including video and audio mixing, ensure smooth camera movement and operations, camera framing, lighting, floor managing, and a good solid understanding of sophisticated AV event systems
- Work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment involving live events, video conferencing platforms (i.e. Google Meet, Zoom, etc.),and general AV infrastructure support
- Meet with stakeholders to discuss audio and video requirements for events and ensure proper technical advice is provided
- Troubleshoot system and provide solution if any issue occurs during the event for audio, video, switching and control systems
- Handle technical, event and incident management escalations in a timely manner.
- Conduct thorough checks of all AV equipment prior every event to ensure seamless event execution, pre-event set up of AV equipment including video videoconferencing with other remote locations, manage audio setup, prepare/upload presentation material (i.e. PowerPoint slide, PDF file, video clip, etc.)
- Deliver post-event recording edits
- Document event/operational workflows and standard operating procedures (“SOPs“) when required
- Completion of daily AV tasks and routines including however not limited to status reports and up to date documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience within the technical event production/broadcast environment
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
- Full understanding of audiovisual technology and advancements including lighting, audio/video, staging, rigging, video conferencing systems and power
- Strong problem-solving skills and resolve issues proactively.
- Solid experience as a live event technician, working closely with other AV team members across APAC
- Proficient in the technical delivery of high-quality events
- Video output experience with a strong technical understanding of systems
- Experience operating event production systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must to build and maintain relationships
- Ability to prioritise while adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing day-to-day changes at every level of detail
- Ability to manage many projects at once with varying levels of production
