Disaster Preparedness | MPI Westfield

Sam Sherman, Vice President, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement will be speaking on a panel for MPI Westfield in Greenwich, CT on Tuesday, March 10th. The panel will focus on Disaster Preparedness, with participants discussing what to do when a disaster happens while onsite such as an earthquake, water main break, active shooter or other potential threats that impact safety. The FIRST team will present two sessions at the Experiential Marketing Summit this year. The two-day conference is being postponed.

 

How To Transform a ‘Less Than Perfect’ Venue Into a Showstopper | Event Marketer’s EMS 2020

Focusing on the FIRST venue sourcing capability, the session titled, “How To Transform a ‘Less Than Perfect’ Venue Into a Showstopper” will include Allie Galloway, Director, Global Events, Verizon Media, Jennifer Kauf, SVP, Creative Strategy & Brand Marketing at FIRST, and Victoria DeLuise, Director, Venue Sourcing at FIRST. Together, they’ll empower the audience to curate the perfect “unicorn” environment for an event. The session will share case studies from multiple FIRST clients of how to make venues with the BIGGEST obstacles work, and share design tricks and out-of-the-box ideas and solutions to transform less than ideal spaces into inspired environments. Additionally, the presenters will go deep into a Verizon Media case study about how they’ve adapted their approach to venue selection in a new way to see obstacles as possibilities.

Fundamentals: A Data-Centric Approach to Live Events | Event Marketer’s EMS 2020

The second session at Experiential Marketing Summit titled, “Fundamentals: A Data-Centric Approach to Live Events,” will be hosted by Janiqua Green, Head of Data & Analytics at FIRST. In this session, Janiqua will break down the world of event data into digestible bites, focusing on how to embrace a data-centric approach in event strategies; how to craft strategies with the end measurement goal in place from the start; what brands are—and should be—measuring; how to improve teams’ data awareness in a way that produces better ideas and events; and how to capture and analyze the kind of data that helps win customers and boost budgets.

Sam Sherman, Vice President, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, FIRST

Sam is responsible for risk & compliance, procurement and contracting. Sam has delivered global events for over 20 years for clients in fields as varied as technology, education, finance, non-profit, consumer goods and politics. Sam joined FIRST in 2013 in client relations, and transitioned to a position as the manager of the Planning & Production team before moving into her current role. Sam has been a guest lecturer at Pace University, and most recently spoke at the BizBash Expo and COPE events in New York City on Event Security and on GDPR compliance at Event Tech in Las Vegas.

Allie Galloway, Director, Global Events, Verizon Media

For the past four years, Allie Galloway has helped Verizon Media (formerly Oath/AOL) disrupt the media industry through its global experiential efforts and innovative activations for B2B tentpoles, brand experiences, and proprietary programs including their annual 2000+ global sales conference, Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW, E3, and NewFronts. In 2018 she was recognized for her work, receiving Event Marketer’s ’35 under 35′ in experiential marketing award. Before her time at Verizon Media, she worked at startup, Millennial Media, creating white glove VIP experiences for top clients in NYC.


Jennifer Kauf, Senior Vice President, Creative Strategy & Brand Marketing, FIRST

Building a client’s story into an engaging live event requires both business savvy and creative flair. It’s a balancing act Jen executes with precision, using her education and experience to bring objectives-driven strategies and innovative thinking in equal measure to any engagement brought her way. Throughout her career in experiential marketing, Jen has crafted a variety of award-winning event marketing initiatives, guerrilla programs, and promotional campaigns for brands such as GE, NBC Universal, UBS, and A&E. During her tenure with FIRST, Jen has overseen the creative process for experiences including Verizon Media NewFronts, Mastercard leadership meetings, The New York Times thought leadership conferences, and Samsung product launches. And as an avid concert-goer, Jen understands what it takes to engage and entertain an audience, because she’s regularly a part of one. She majored in Studio Arts at Binghamton University.


Victoria DeLuise, Director, Venue Sourcing, FIRST

As Director, Venue Sourcing, Victoria oversees the venue sourcing offering for FIRST globally. She supports a variety of clients for their venue sourcing needs – from large to small, domestic to global, hotels to museums to unique one-of-a-kind spaces. Prior to FIRST, Victoria worked in the financial industry as a corporate meeting planner, at a four-diamond resort property, and at a multinational destination management company. Throughout her career, she has led complex, international, large-scale events and incentive travel programs, including a series of events throughout the Americas and Canada to celebrate an insurance company’s150 year anniversary. Outside of her day job, Victoria enjoys spending time with her dog, Minnie, and volunteering at Covenant House, a shelter for homeless youth, where she sits on the associate board.


Janiqua Green, Head of Data & Analytics, FIRST

Affectionately known at FIRST as the “data guru,” Janiqua Green has contributed to the growth of the Data & Analytics business across the agency. She is currently the global Data & Analytics lead, producing complex event data for leading banks, private equity firms, and creative companies across the industry. Prior to joining FIRST, Janiqua was a Business Analyst at BMO Capital Markets. She loves gathering data insights to help clients make strategic decisions about their business. When she’s not busy at work, Janiqua is usually writing papers for courses as she works towards her Ph.D. from Fordham University.
